Morphological Summary

Monotypic genus of palms endemic to Queensland (Australia), represented solely by W. bifurcata, the foxtail palm. Officially described in 1983, it is one of the most popular palms in tropical horticulture thanks to its very distinctive plumose leaves where the pinnae are inserted around the rachis in multiple planes, resembling a foxtail.
